We're on a mission to create a seamless renewable energy experience that benefits our customers, our company, and our global community. Because when one of us succeeds, all of us succeed.
CEO Patrick Maloney founded Inspire after being moved by the voices of the millions of consumers who were demanding that greater action be taken to combat climate change. He knew that the path toward a better future had to be powered by clean energy.
Where we're headed
Since 2014, we've grown from a team of two people to over 150 employees and counting. Each member of our team brings with them a diverse background and skillset, making it possible for us to answer our climate's call to action, together.
At Inspire, clean energy isn't just a utility — it's a movement. And we're working to bring to life the impact that our customers are making in the advancement of clean energy access for all. Thanks to our customers, we've prevented nearly two million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions from being burned into the atmosphere. Imagine what we can accomplish by 2030.
We're committed to creating a world where clean energy is for everyone. To do this, we put impact at the center of the conversation with our customers, our company, and our community.
We provide exceptional service and enable each Inspire customer to access clean energy.
As a certified B Corp, we align doing right by people and the planet with profit in pursuit of a higher standard of transparency and social impact.
We work to increase access to clean energy, both locally and globally, with the help of our partnerships and social-impact projects.
We're committed to making a positive impact on the environment by making clean energy accessible to everyone—because we believe that every person should have the power to make a difference in the fight against climate change. With the help of our customers, we've been able to gain momentum and grow our collective impact.
Over 3.9 million renewable energy certificates purchased and counting!
On behalf of each customer, Inspire purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) to support the continued growth of clean energy production. This money goes directly to wind and solar farmers around the US. Because of our customers, we've been able to invest over $500 million into the clean energy systems that will pave the way for a renewable energy future.
1.7 million metric tons of CO2e avoided
The Inspire community has worked together to prevent 1,707,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e). That’s a 10x greater impact than could be made by recycling alone!
3.92 gigawatts of clean energy supplied
For reference, one gigawatt (GW) can supply enough energy to power nearly 725,000 homes. That means Inspire customers have contributed enough clean energy to the grid to power all the households in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Chicago combined!
2.5 million years of recycling
Every year, the average person recycles around 394 pounds of trash. That means you'd have to recycle every day for 2.5 million years to have the same impact that our customers have had.
15,000 miles biked to work
Our Inspire team takes sustainability seriously in their own lives. Last year, our team cycled a total of 15,000 miles to and from work!Read more about working at Inspire

Inspire purchases wind Renewable Energy Certificates (or RECs) from wind farm projects throughout the US. These RECs represent the environmental benefits of renewable energy production. Renewable energy producers, such as wind farms, can earn one REC for every megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity they generate and add to the energy grid.
By producing RECs alongside the energy commodity, renewable energy projects can be compensated for the environmental benefit they provide. Over time, this can stimulate increased demand for renewables. In other words, the more people who choose to use clean, renewable energy in their homes, the faster our energy grid will transition to 100% clean energy.
