We’re excited to announce that Inspire has been honored for the third year in a row with Built In LA’s 2021 Best Places to Work Award.

In the last year, we’ve all learned a lot about what the phrase “work-life balance” really means, and in many ways redefined our understanding of it completely. As COVID-19 restrictions caused us to trade our open-concept offices for sometimes less-than-ideal home workspaces, we had to find creative ways to quickly adapt to our new work-from-home lifestyle, both as individuals and as companies.

That’s why we’re so excited to announce that, in light of all the past year’s challenges, Inspire has been honored for the third year in a row with Built In LA’s 2021 Best Places to Work Award — this time in three different categories.

Earning a place on the “LA’s Best Places To Work,” “LA’s Best Midsize Companies To Work For,” and “LA’s Best Paying Companies” lists is an achievement that we are proud to have reached, and is something that we could not have done without the passion, dedication, and creativity of our team of Avengers.

The winners of these awards are determined by Built In’s algorithm and are chosen based on information about each company’s compensation, benefits packages, and cultural programs. This year, the algorithm also considered criteria around each company’s remote working opportunities as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) programs. And having achieved such recognition is an honor that Inspire is dedicated to upholding.

The power of people coming together

As a mission-driven company, we aim to put people first in everything we do from the employees we hire to the communities we work with around the nation and abroad through partnerships like those with GivePower. And it is through our mission to transform the way people access clean energy that we are able to unite and motivate our bicoastal team to show up, work well, and feel empowered by all that we achieve at the end of each day. Because it is only by working together that we will be able to achieve our most ambitious goal of solving the climate crisis, and this means taking care of each other, and the planet, in the process.

As a bicoastal company with offices in both Santa Monica, CA, and Philadelphia, PA, Inspire has always been well-versed in the complexities and opportunities offered by virtual collaboration. As such, we were able to adapt to the sea of changes brought about by the pandemic with swiftness, moving all of our meetings and workflows to home offices around the country. We were also sure to provide Avengers with the tools they needed to be successful in this new remote work environment, including maintaining bi-weekly all-company huddles to keep teams informed. We are proud of the way our teams have come together over the last year to ensure that we not only stay connected through our world’s changes, but continue to thrive.

Inspire's present — and our community's future

This year has given us the opportunity to transform the ways we approach learning and development opportunities across the company, both individually and as teams. We’ve reinvented the way we approach individual development plans, which has, in turn, enhanced our ability to both improve capacity building opportunities for Avengers and increase opportunities for internal hiring. We’ve taken our monthly Coach It Corners (our take on the traditional “Lunch-and-Learn”) virtual and have developed a variety of employee resource groups, allowing everyone to continue to motivate, educate, and engage with one another even when we are apart.

Receiving this type of recognition is not just about the honor of the award, it is about the promise that we, as a company, are making to our current and future Avengers. The promise that we will continue to put our employees' needs first so that, together, we can achieve our mission as a company to create a world where clean energy is accessible to everyone, everywhere.
